In the Bible, it says, “Of the making of many blogs, there is no end….”
What? It didn’t say ‘blogs”? Are you sure, because there seem to be a whole lot of them.
And yet another blog appears. Another Dickens, another Tolstoy, another Herbie Schleppermann picks up his laptop and deigns to grace the world with his every gilded pearl of wisdom. Meh.
Let’s get to the basics:
- I’m a retired librarian, now 66.
- I’m a born-again Christian who truly believes what is written in the Apostles’ Creed.
- Married 44 years.
- Curmudgeon in good standing with the union.
Most of what I will post will probably deal with love, marriage and intimacy from a Christian perspective, and without apology. I hope we can get along, but I do have a track record of obstreperousness that is a marvel to behold. My wife’s influence will keep it clean, but if you’re a boob, I won’t shy away from declaring it to you.
In Christ, Pax
Huh? What’s that you say? “A cat?” Oh, “Why a cat?” Because. As Mark Twain said, “A home without a cat—and a well-fed, well-petted, and properly revered cat—may be a perfect home, perhaps, but how can it prove title?”
There is an old saying that goes “Too soon old, too late smart.” I’m pretty sure I qualify. A couple of months after I started blogging, I did a series on how my life experiences brought me to where I am today, and I find that it is still being read. It just hit me that if readers are coming to the About page to understand why this blog, maybe, just maybe, that a link to that series would be helpful. (duh!)
The above is the short version of the why The Curmudgeonly Librarian. The Why And How Of My Now series is the long version. Your choice.
